We started IB-PRO because we were tired of the same problem every IBR engineer faces — hours lost to spreadsheets, formula errors, and regulation lookups that should take minutes.

Who we are

A small team of mechanical engineers from India who spent years doing IBR calculations the hard way — then decided to build a better tool. IB-PRO started in 2017 as an idea and became a working product used by practicing engineers across the country.

What we do

We build IBR-specific calculation software for pressure vessels and heat exchangers — the two vessel types that fall under Indian Boiler Regulations jurisdiction. Every calculation traces back to the exact IBR clause, and every output is formatted for submission to the competent authority.

Why we do it

Because IBR compliance is legally mandatory — and getting it wrong has real consequences. Engineers deserve a tool that is as rigorous as the regulations themselves. No guessing, no manual lookups, no formula errors. Just correct calculations, every time.

Our story

From a frustration
to a product.

In 2017, our founders were working on a pressure vessel design project and spent two days going back and forth between the IBR document, ASME material tables, and spreadsheets — just to get a shell thickness calculation right.

They decided there had to be a better way. IB-PRO was the answer — a web-based tool that has all the regulation logic built in, so engineers can focus on design, not administration.

2017
The idea
Frustrated by manual IBR calculations, our founders begin building the first version of IB-PRO.
2019
Pressure Vessel module launched
The first public version goes live with full IBR Edition 2016 support for pressure vessel design.
2022
Heat Exchanger module added
Shell-and-tube heat exchanger calculations — including tube sheet thickness and heating surface area — added to the platform.
2024
IBR process guides published
Drawing approval, inspection procedure, and IBR forms documentation added to help engineers beyond the calculation stage.
